A website needs three major elements set-up to be fully operational:

1. Domain Name (www.yourcompany.com)

2. Hosting Account from an Internet Service Provider (ISP)

1. Typical $150-$350 per host account per year.
2. You can select options for hosting and set-it all up online through Digital Intent Web Services at www.digitalintent.com.
3. These often include free e-mail addresses that can be set-up with “yourname@yourwebsitename.com.” E-mail set-up, although closely related, is not normally included as part of the service when you buy a website project.

3. Web pages and graphics designed by an agency or in house professional
   
   These pages are written by professionals in Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and display the images and text on screen when someone goes to your website.

1. Requires special software and knowledge to build web pages.
2. Often requires additional work in graphic design and photo manipulation.
3. Basic sites have “static” pages.  We build the pages and they display on your website.  Custom sites with “dynamic” pages have embedded computer code and can actually perform computerized database searches etc.  These are much more expensive and require both web design and computer coding professionals to build and maintain.

None of these three major elements will operate without the other.  You must have all three set-up to work and function with each other.
